Is anyone still maintaining this plugin? Or is there something very similar? This was probably the best plugin I have ever used for a mage.

CastIt! is the closest thing, but it's missing many of the functions that made Smartcaster great, like wand switching and user-defined hot keys.

Ugggh, that sucks. Was easily one of the best mage plugins around. I wish I was still in contact with Spax...cause I doubt he ever released that source code.
