So I headed to Xara to get the supplies to make the new pea forms of grenades, and I've discovered I can't add them to MakeIt!

The result after making them is 50 of the grenade, but MakeIt! only see's it as one item and won't allow it to be added to the recipe because it has the "same" name.


Is there a way to allow more than 1 path to the same item or should I just build an alternate form of the recipe blocks and let people pick which path they want to follow to creating grenades?


wubbie - if only turbine had created peas of the grenades we could have avoided this...

I think I've seen something similar with using peas for other items. With them, your recipe book has to have either a pea recipe or a non-pea recipe, if it has both, it gets confused. Does that work here?


I haven't tried it myself so am not certain of answer.

Well grenades are unbelievably expensive... and worse in pea form...


I think what I will do is write the code blocks for both and then let people pick and choose which way they want to go. This will create 2 recipe lines, but its probably the best and easiest way to get to the goal.


I found a few more crafting iterations I was missing anyways so I will gather the materials for those and implement them into the basic recipe file.


With any luck I can hand add the new grenades and not typo YAY Dyslexia!


And I had someone suggest cleaning up the arrangement of items in the list, going to have to think about how this is done currently and how it could be improved.


If I remeber correctly there is a 1 -1 for if the data is hidden... maybe if I hid more of the "basics" that no one actually uses the dropdown would be shorter and more user friendly...

In general I like to keep sub-components in their own section...though sometimes it's a bit difficult to determine what the 'final' product is...in particular are arrowheads the final product (because thats what I carry most of and make in batches) or is the arrow, dart, bolt the final product, although I rarely make them in batches.


sub-component dropdowns I don't worry about making them pretty, they are rarely used. The Product dropdowns on the other hand get used a lot.

They would still be in their own subsections, makes trouble shooting my typos faster, just maybe not shown to the general user. Really... who makes big batches of dough?


As I added more and "unique" additions I tried adding new subsets to hold the information to make them easier to handle and if someone else wanted to add more things that I;ve missed... I think there are about 10 atm... they would know where to stick things


When i find some time I will sit down witht he brutal power of notepad and do some major cleanup and some additions of the pea formulas... honest I will get there it just is a matter of balancing, AC, Work, Sleep and the flu...

I'm currently torn about how to turn out the new 2 thread recipe files...


I almost just want to make a "base" file and then offer additions you can cut and paste in to add more features rather than trying to keep 2 balanced...


but then... i worry that people won't understand cut and paste...
