According to dxdiag (start -> run -> dxdiag) I'm running directx 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904).
However, when I try to install decal, it says in the program title bar "Decal 3.0 Alpha Setup", then in the top box it says "Microsoft DirectX 9.0c". I click accept for the EULA, and it takes me to a screen that says "downloading required files," which invariably fails and lets me go no further. I don't think I should see this screen at all, seeing as how I'm running the correct directx, and have downloaded and run the directx update from decal's website.
Any ideas?

nevermind. I downloaded the msi version and it worked fine.
