Hello. I'm back to the game after a long absence and am having a few small problems with Go Arrow and Mob Tracker.


Go Arrow is not saving any of my character-specific bind locations - portal ties and lifestone bind/tie. For example, when I recall to the lifestone Go Arrow updates it automatically, but it's gone the next time I log in. For my portal ties and lifestone tie, my locations aren't even updated when I cast the recall spell or if I re-tie. There aren't any problems with my allegiance or house binds - they always stay in Go Arrow even after I log out and back in.


For Mob Tracker, my problem is that when I select to display the span map, only a giant red X appears on my map. If I look at the same spawn data in the seperate, out of game utility that came with Mob Tracker, there are no problems. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Try Mob Tracker again. I had some corruption on a large subset of the small maps and I'm not sure exactly why. My upload is getting a lot of connection refused responses that I'll have to dig into. In either case, I performed a manual sync and all stats, maps, and mobs should have the current info again.

p.s. The Big Maps weren't affected, and the offline viewer uses the super-res maps, which is why you were able to see one but not the other.

The errors you posted look like what happen when you run out of graphics memory, and the GoArrow map window can't be created. Usually when that happens, AC crashes within a few seconds-- but from the error log it looks like it only happened once. This isn't related to the other problem you're having, but if you frequently get those errors, go to the HUDs > General tab and uncheck the "Both maps can be visible at the same time" option. This can help prevent you from using too much graphics memory by having two map windows open at once.


Are those the only errors in the log? Unfortunately they don't really help to solve the problem where only some of your settings are saving. Someone else recently PM'ed me with a similar problem, and here's what I suggested they try to troubleshoot the problem (they never replied back, so I'm not sure if it helped):


In the GoArrow folder, rename settings.xml to settings-old.xml.

The next time you run GoArrow, all the settings will revert to the default.

See if it saves the portal tie settings by changing them, then exiting and restarting AC.

After you test that, quit AC and delete the new settings.xml file then rename the old one back to settings.xml to get your old settings back. (Make sure to exit AC before you do this, or your settings will be overwritten.)

Let me know whether doing that fixes the problem--if it does, I'll try to come up with a way to fix it while keeping your old settings.

Those were the only errors in my log. I tried your suggestion but unfortunately that did not work.


Next, I tried uninstalling GoArrow with Control Panel's Add/Remove Program. I then manually deleted the remaining GoArrow folder that was left behind. Then I redownloaded and reinstalled it. Still no luck with the lifestone and portal ties.


The lifestone tie and bind update automatically when I use @lifestone or cast lifestone recall. They disappear when I log out and back in.


I am unable to get my portal ties to update at all. When I cast a portal tie spell, I get this message:

I got that message trying to tie to both Subway and Fiuns. I've also e-mailed you my settings.xml file. It is the original one from my first installation.

From what I see in your settings file, it appears that the per-character start locations aren't being saved at all (as opposed to not being loaded properly). After scouring the source code to see why it might not be saving them, the only possibility I've found so far is that Decal is telling GoArrow that your character's ID is 0 when the settings are being saved.


This may sound silly, but could you describe how you log out of the game? This could be: Alt+F4, or Shift+Esc, or going through the menu to log out, etc.


Also, could you try the following: Log in, set the lifestone bind coords (you don't actually have to recall, you can just set the coords to anything manually), then log out in these four different ways, to see if the settings save?


Use the menu option to log your character out.

Click the brown X in the upper corner of the AC window.

Press Shift+Esc

Press Alt+F4


As for the portal tie detection -- GoArrow inspects the portal and looks for any exit coordinates in the portal's description. Since dungeon portals don't have exit coordinates, GoArrow gives up and tells you it can't determine the portal's destination. It might have made sense to store the coords of the portal itself in that case, but I didn't do that

I normally log out via the brown X in the upper right corner or via the menu.


This time, I portal tied using a surface to surface portal. Per your explanation above, this time it automatically updated my portal tie as a starting location. For your test, I manually updated my lifestone bind location each time I logged in as well.


I logged out via all four methods. Each time I logged back in, the starting locations were not saved.


Thanks again for all your help with this. I used Decal the last time I played. When I came back, I reinstalled Decal this time. I even used the registry cleaner tool before I reinstalled. I wonder if maybe there is something that got missed when I uninstalled the old version that's now possibly causing a conflict here?
