I just got the release email, so hopefully it's true. If so, I'll be upgrading my vmware machine this weekend, probably, and moving to one bot per virtual machine, instead of 4 bots per machine.

This way, I can schedule automated reboots and get the bots to restart, to clear up memory.

Really? If this works well on Linux, I may be Windows-free soon!

Got it and installed, works well.

What settings would you suggest for each virtual machine simply running xp and ac?

I'm setting them up under XP64. It's a QX6700 with 4 gigs of ram.

Unless you're using the vm's for something other than AC, no real need for XP64. I wouldn't give them very much memory either.. maybe like 512MB each, if you're planning on rebooting them daily (which I'm planning on doing).

This way too, I can have separate installs for each of my bots, running only the plugins that they need. Unfortunately, I only have a single core 3ghz with 8GB ram in it to work with. But, we'll see how it works out.

Yeah, my system is 64, but i'm just installing 32 for the VMs.

Let us know what kind of results you get. I've got a single core 2.4 lying around somewhere that might be resurrected.

Has anyone got an AC client runinng in a VM using the VMWare Player 2.5? I'm on 64bit Vista, my AC machine seems to have died a mysterious death and I figured I'd just stick AC in an XPSP3 VM I had laying around.

Everything seems happy, but when I start the client, it gets to the loading screen with the two blue squigly bars, gets about 2% on updating and then bluescreens 64bit Vista! Done that twice now - it's getting an IRQL_something in the NVidia driver.

If you do have AC running in a VM, did you have to configure anything in particular to get it to work? I don't see anyplace to do such configuration at the moment...

Thanks!
