when i go to the offical mirror and get decal should it work or is there some extra stuff i need to do to get it to work because i had it working last patch then i read i could just hit update and it will work but now it will not update. pls detail info pls i'm not very good with these fixes and work arounds.... i just wanna play a game. THX

I don't know what files you downloaded from where but I'll tell you what I did wrong. The direct x I downloaded took 2 steps to install. The 1st step was to unzip it. The 2nd step (I missed this part) was to go to the folder you extracted direct x to and install it. Hope this helps.

I know i have the right direct x because it was working before patch. i was wondering if i go to http://update.decaldev.com/ and download decal should it work or do i need to do some fancy memloc stuff or hoop jumping... i keep getting that my client dosn't match my xml and when i hit update the server is down

Posting the EXACT message would be a lot more useful than your paraphrasing, as I know what the conditions are for each error message specifically (and there are 2 different error messages relating to client and xml versions).

If you're using a Firewall, make sure DenAgent is configured to be able to access that page. Also keep in mind that update.decaldev.com is actually pointing to a different URL so you have to allow it all.
