Someone from SC says they are using Avira AntiVirus with success. I've not tried it.

I installed the free version, Avira AntiVir Personal, and it's working just fine with AC and Vista home premium 32bit.

Using AVG Free version, no issues with Vista 64 and AC.

I _used_ avg free worked fine until it updated last week and then I kept getting the error msg. SO I don't think AVG will work

if they updated their engine again, then it may work.. otherwise, if you keep the old engine, and just update your virus defs then it'll probably work.

Been working here. As I've said else where I don't thik the issue (at its core) is with the anti-virus software, but something the Windows Security Center is doing.

I got a weird thing going here. I have 2 computer running vista and one works fine with avg free and ac and the other one does not work with avg free and ac. Kinda odd.

So I downloaded the current version of AVG, it would not work with AC, but I saw someone posted about a patch from Microsoft that might fix the problem. So I tried it and guess what AC now working fine with AVG.
