what does a .ast file do? I have a file called, not so strangely btw, Maglett_FrostFell.ast that is 626kb in the VTank folder, I have the same type of file for other toon's but they are like a tenth of the size on Mag's file.

The content does not readily explain it's function, does that sound like it's a bit whacko in size?
