Question 1:

___________

I am a melee and just started using vtank. I noticed a few times I have set up in a spot and a few hours later, notice I have died so when I do corpse recovery, notice my body is nowhere near where I had set up.

I assume I am following mobs as a monster is perhaps moving past me chasing someone else and I get "dragged" or perhaps my character is trying to engage monsters that are just out of reach and keeps doing it until I get to a bad spot and die.

Is there a way as a melee to remain in roughly the same spot?

Question 2:

__________

I have noticed when using vtank, if my character tries to attack a monster that is "just out of reach" he won't engage something that comes close to him...either keeps trying to attack the out of range monster or just stops trying to engage any monster and then I get swarmed/surrounded and stop attacking. Is this an AC thing, a decal thing, a vtank thing or what?

thx.

Your Question 1:

As a Melee, you may get stuck behind a creature that your are attacking as he runs. This is especially true when dealing with Eaters, they run back and forth like crazy.

You can set a sticky position in Vtank by using the route tab. Within the profiles tab, you would select auto navigate. This will theoritically get you back to your originaal sticky position.

Bear in mind, the program fights first, then loots, then buffs, then autonavigates - so prior to the navigation occuring - other things may keep you in the same spot for an extended period. You also may be moved to a location that has a direct line barrior to your original sticky - so you may never get back there.

Your Question 2:

I've seen the same thing happen to me. I can't explain it. I have set my mob range to as low as 3 and it still wants to attack something a long distance away and at times will run to it. No idea why this happens - it really makes no sense to me.

Other than things like that, you're going to find Vtank great. It's way better than LTX. Don't know if you have ever used LTX. If you have, the biggest thing you'll notice is how fast Vtank is vs LTX. If you ever add Alinco for looting to the equation, you'll then see a much bigger speed improvement. Have fun.

The 'run up to a monster' behavior is controlled by the approach range setting.

Thanks for that info. I'll play with this setting.

this is more of an AC issue that even effects manual play.

the server lags and thinks Monster X is in location Y, but in reality it's way over at Z. in this situation you computer believes X is the closest monster to you and you attack. server catchs up and moves it from up front at Y to way in the back Z and you are not bumping into the mob trying to get to it.

if you are there you just to a short hop jump up, and re attttack something closer.

Just checked my approach range - it is set to zero - what setting would you recommend I use to help prevent this type of behaviour? Thank You.
