Blank settings in Alinco3
|
Occasionally, when I log in all the settings in Alinco3 are blank. Logging out and back in usually fixes it. Does anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it?

suggest you check to see if suddenly a 'world' setting is turned On, or OFF which will affect some of what you loot

There are no settings to check. All the tabs when clicked on have blank pages.

on the 'settings' tab there are on/off settings for world/char settings. IF THOSE change from one to the other, for example world salvage profile flip flops (by accident) then all the settings you had for salvage pick up under World would be 'gone' unless you clicked it back to the original on. OR vice versa if the rules were set up with the world OFF and it got clicked on then the world salvage 'rule's would be gone.

I completely understand what you're saying Ag Nar and appreciate the help. However, as I previously stated all the windows if you can call them that when you click on the tabs are blank. So I can't turn on or off anything nor change any settings. Thanks for your time.

Well as previously stated, I logged out then back in. The missing settings are back. I did nothing more. However, when I tried that earlier nothing happened, no settings at all. I logged out completely several times. I even rebooted the computer with no results. Now I log back in and everything is normal....

I to have had a similar situation with creating new characters. All the options in Alinco3 are gone, you can click the tabs, but every fillable menu is blank. To fix it I had to copy a working characters file and rename it to my new character to get those menu items back. The files are in your x:\Documents and Settings\*username*\My Documents\Decal Plugins\Alinco3. (xp versions). However at this point in time it seems to fix itself if I log out and log back in.

Im trying to remember how I found about the character folder. I was looking at an error log from alinco that was trying to load something but it looked like it was pulling the wrong directory. If I can find it again ill post the error message.

Well, this just begs the question as to why this happens or I suppose you could take the stance, "if it works don't fix it"...when it works I mean.
