Graphics driver question

I am currently using a 2 year old Toshiba laptop with an integrated intel chipset. There have been no new drivers released by Toshiba in about a year and a half. I went to the Intel site and downloaded the newest driver they had available, but when I attempt to install it, it tells me that I HAVE to use one from the computer manufacturer.
Does anyone know a way around this? Im not having any problems, but im sure eventually the lack of updates is going to be a problem.
