Been gone for a looong time. I take it that there is something new and improved over AC explorer, but what is it? The only thing about getting around that I remember is the subway. I don't think that's going to get me far.

You can update AC Explorer to a point. The last Database Entries available for it are from 2007 though. (Though I am in contact with Warcry / AC: CoD to try and get it updated)





If you are looking for a replacement for AC Explorer, you might want to try Gawa's Dereth Explorer. The original site is gone but there are a few people hosting the files still.





Also for the in-game option there is Decal:

Thanks for the help. As it turns out, right now I don't need too much help getting around, thanks to all the content update for newbs. Game sure has changed at the low levels, don't feel like a second class citizen anymore .

Thanks again, I was wondering does anyone know of any good monarchies on HG? Everything seems kind of empty now. I suspect that's because most folks are level 200+ and hunting in the big boy/girl areas.

Assuming Dereth Explorer's map is similar to the one that GoArrow uses, I could put GoArrow's map in the format that Dereth Explorer needs. What are the dimensions, file name, and file type of the map?

Dreath uses 4 different maps of the same world in different shades. The primary is called standard.png with a resolution 2048 x 2048 x 8 BPP. The main map is called dereth.png and is 2048 x 2048 x 24 BPP. The other two are blackwhite.png and height.png, both are again 2048 x 2048 x 8 BPP. The titles describe the last two.

standard.png and dereth.png are just GoArrow's maps padded out to 2048x2048. I left standard.png as a 24 BPP image instead of reducing the color depth to 8 BPP. If it's a problem, it's easy enough for me to reduce it to 8 BPP. height.png and blackwhite.png are identical (height maps) except one is black and green and the other is black and white. As far as I can tell, that's what the originals were.
