I am not sure who (if anyone atm) is in charge of the code or if there is any active development.

I had an idea this morning about using CraftBot to create a level 8 scroll making/selling bot. Scrolls are only made "on demand" saving the bot owner space and no problems with stock that doesn't move. Could also be used by different monarchies to have comp bots on hand at the mansion where everyone pools their left overs so more people can get their 8s done faster.

I tried some testing on my own, and got the bot to accept a trade note as the activation item, but it created the item and returned the activation item when it was done. Is there a client side switch that I did not see to stop that behavior?

I've finished compiling every level 8 scroll into MakeIt!'s recipe file, so I have no problem editing XML or doing long complicated strings of things

I think it would be nice to put like 10 MMDs in the window and the bot says do you want a Life, Critter, Item, War then after a pick then offer the spells that someone is willing to sell for that price.

So my desires would be ...
- a switch/command where the activation item is kept.
- the ability to use stacks of items as an activation item.
- the ability to use "multiple" activation items - ie the cost is 5 MMDs and a mana scarab.

This is probably just a pipe dream on my part, but if I don't ask I won't find out.

wubbie

After para stopped working on craftbot he handed it over to yew to work on, but yew never did anything with it. I think the project is dead. There is a tinkerbot made in ACTool that a couple servers use and something like that probably isn't that hard to make.

Not sure about getting Craftbot to do it, but as mentioned Tinkerbot in ACTool (Which The Jade Dragon runs on) could probably be modified to do what you need.

So its prolly just another nifty idea wubbie had to late.

I once upon a time had a slight working knowledge of ACTool, and its very powerful.
But yeah I'm so not ready to work on another massive scale thing that might not get used.
Who knows para or yew might wander in... but for now I'll think of something else.

MakeIt! works for making scrolls, but has the failing of not knowing before it begins if it has all of the pieces and only fails when it looks for x and says oh I have no x.

But then I have fun finding new ways to make things work, that weren't expected.

It's possible to do this with CraftBot too, but you'd need to modify the code slightly. I put the source online, so it's free for anyone to use. However, I think it was on my old webserver, which was offline. Send me a PM here if you're interested in it and I can e-mail it to you (or anyone who wants it.) It's in C#.

Hihi Para! Thank you for being so generous with the code.

I can't program, but I am willing to provide the XML for this to happen.
I understand the CraftBot format, and I can do mostly cut and paste from the MakeIt! upgrade to get the basics working.

I really think a ScrollBot would be very useful.
Do we have a brave soul willing to modify some code to make the world a better place?

Basic hurdles we would need to hop over -
Keep "activation item(s)" - requires modified code.
Add a "Scrolls" radio button to tell the bot to access a scrolls portion of recipes. (a like not a need)

Keeping the bot from having to spew forth a long list of spells and end up gagged. - this might be accomplished simply by limited each "price level" to x spells, where x is just under the gag activation limit

So any resident coders up to the challenge?

I'd like copy of it, as well as a copy of that makeit xml you have made wubbie.
