Updating instructions


Go Arrow:

1) Open Go Arrow and go to Atlas > Update

2) Change the URL to wherever you saved the new data_cod.xml file. (In my case C:\data_cod.xml)

3) Make sure Database Type is set to Crossroads of Dereth.

4) Click Update, when Finished click Update a Second time.

* Current number of locations in database: 4,966

Or:

1) Open Go Arrow and go to Atlas > Update

2) Change the URL to http://darktorizo.henrygreer.com/downloads/data_cod.xml

Alternate URL http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6604527/downloads/data_cod.xml

3) Make sure Database Type is set to Crossroads of Dereth.

4) Click Update, when Finished click Update a Second time.

* Current number of locations in database: 4,966


Dereth Explorer:

1) Back Up your existing data_cod.xml file located at C:\program files\Dereth Explorer\Data\data_cod.xml by default

2) Copy the new Data_cod.xml file to C:\program files\Dereth Explorer\Data\


Adding the Gear Knight Resistance Camp Area Recall:

1) Back Up your existing settings.xml file located at C:\program files\decal plugins\GoArrow\settings.xml by default

2) Open the original settings.xml file and add

<startLocation name="Gear Knight Invasion Area Camp Recall" type="Regular" icon="06006AD5" runDistance="0.4" coords="12.3S, 74.9W" enabled="True" savesPer="All" />

Yes I realize that is not the correct Icon for the spell, but I could not locate the address of the correct Icon

somewhere between the

<startLocations>
</startLocations>

This month for the first time since May of 2007 the Crossroads of Dereth Location Database was updated to include the latest NPCs, Locations ect. Thanks to the efforts of myself, and Tim Turner at Themis-Media (CoD's Parent Company)

I would however expect the new link to not be updated as quickly as the one I provide as Tim has to add the new items each month just like I do.


I would like the Asheron's Call Community to verify these locations in your travels. If you happen to notice any errors, Wrong locations / Coordinates, mis-spellings, errors with the quest(s) attached to any location or NPC, ect. ect. I appreciate you doing this. Beats having to do it myself. Just a tiny little thing, though; there's a duplicate <id> somewhere in the xml, and Dereth Explorer repeatedly complains. (Though of course it's not nice enough to say *which* ID is duplicated...) I know DE tends to be extremely picky in its data file configuration, and this might not be something GoArrow cares about. (I'm not running GoArrow so I couldn't say for sure.)

July's data is fine.

GoArrow won't work properly if there are duplicate location IDs. I think only the first one with a given ID will show up in the database.

is there a possibility to filter out town network results? Such as if I don't want to use the Town Network travel routes?

Hmm, well not easily, but I can release a version with the Town Network portals edited out I suppose. Will probably release it with the next patch, unless I have some free time to do it this week.
