Hey sorry to post two problems in one day but now posting for a friend...

The install went fine for the game, but whenever he opens the launcher it just crashes (never loads)

He's running Vista on a laptop with an Nvidia card, has anyone heard of any problems like this?

Have they installed decal? If so post an export with locations checked. It helps figure out problems faster.

Nope not yet, can't even get AC working. I'm sure he can install it and post the export if it would help, but thought we should get AC working before installing more

His GPU is a 8600m GT

Did you follow the sticky at the top of the forums telling you not to install AC under the program files or x86 directory? Most people are creating a c:\games directory and installing it under that.

Yeah actually I think that might be the problem. I told him not to install it there but I guess he didn't see it as a big deal and did it anyways haha.

But yeah had him move everything to c:\games and it's updating now.

I hope you mean uninstall then reinstall. You can't just move the folder.

Also, when he launches AC, does it show the screen with the 2 vials, and once they fill and it tries to go to the splash screen, is this when it is crashing?


If so, this is a DX problem. Specifically it's not enabled on the video card.
