First, let me start by saying that I am not that computer saavy and am now completely lost by myself. Here is the specs on the sticker for my new laptop-


CPU: Intel core i7-2630QM

VGA: Nvidia Geforce GT 540m/ 1gb ddr3

RAM: DdrIII 8gb(4gb*2)

HDD: 640GB


The problem that I am having is that when I go to loot a monster my screen locks up for 2-5 seconds while the loot bar seems to be loading. This also happens to me at other points in the game when I am doing whatever, runnning somewhere, or even in the middle of a fight with players or monsters and it is extremely annoying, it almost makes the game unplayable for PvP purposes. My ping usually runs from between 150-250 and my crappy toshiba laptop from 2003 doesn't lag/load anything close to my new one on the same internet connection. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have no clue at this point but it does seem to me like maybe my comp is trying to refresh the screen to often or something but changing the ingame video options doesnt seem to do anything. Please help.

Do you have decal installed? If so, post a decal export. Make sure you check the locations option at the top of the export screen.

I actually have this happen too. It's really bad right after I restart my comp and restart AC, but after opening a few corpses, it kinda goes away. Kinda.


I've always thought it was the slower speeds on my laptop hard drive.

Have you tried the sync to refresh rate option? That might help.

Could be another application running on your new pc.
ie. Antivirus or indexing.

I recall VI in a topic talking about the newer faster graphic cards and running some kind of SLI mode for today's hot slick graphics and multiple monitors (sorry if wrong about complete details didn't concern me so glossed over a lot of the details)


bottom line was tht using this faster SLI mode (if that's the right term) terribled slowed things down. had to shut it off while playing AC.


This make any sense to any knowledgeable person, can you 'CORRECTLY' talk about what i'm trying to dredge up from swiss cheese memory>


oh, if your doesn't have this SLI (or what it's really called) display ability/running, NEVER MIND don't read this and move along nothing to see.

As I remember it decal running ends up shutting down SLI because of how it works.

I have this problem on my new computer too, it also doesn't load the bubbles in launcher everytime.


Also, when running decal it takes like 30 seconds to log off. It shows AC as not responding than finally logs off. Logging in is the same way.


Anyone have any ideas?
