Thanks to Darktorizo for this opportunity.

Looking for someone to take over the Go Arrow / Dereth Explorer / CoD Database updates

http://vnboards.ign.com/ac_utilities/b5432/115428505/p1/?2

I have created a new website and will continue the updating of the locations XML for the GoArrow and Dereth Explorer utilities.

http://maps.roogon.com

The first phase is completed with getting the website up and running. The present XMLs are the last ones Darktorizo was running with. (With one minor update .. more later) The site basically mirror his (thanks Dark !). As I update the links, you'll notice a (updated #date# #time#) at the end of the line. That's to let you know when I was in it, to decide if you need to get the update. The "Vanilla" is the only one to include the August updates in it. I plan to update the rest in the next few days. Each of the link lines will have a date as I get them out. In the middle of getting the site up, I discovered a correction for the NPC 'Tai Wo' .. thus the first minor update.

The second and next phase is to get new changes into the XML. I'll start checking around the monthly patches to see if all is included. I'm always open for posting for locations in need of adding. And I'm on the outlook for corrections and just plain old stuff in need of addition that may had been missed. Otherwise known as a weekly hobby of adding stuff.

The third phase I would like to do is adding to the website, tips for using GoArrow. I have been using GoArrow for years! It's needless to say, I was happy that Virindi pick it up as a addition to her suite of tools. From time to time, I'll add some of the things I have learned, that may be of interest to others in the use of this wonderful quick reference utility of AC. The additions will of course depend on my time. Updates hold priority.

Enjoy and let me know what you think .. or what's missing.

I would love a super basic newbie tutorial. I tried to use it for the first time ever the other night, and was positively lost.

And I very much agree with you MoveHG. Time allowing over the next few weeks, I'm going to start doing that.

I already had a couple of conversations with friends concerning lack of depth in the how-to's.

SL, yes it would, if I understand your question correctly.

I am in the process of writing up some instructions on the web page that would clarify this.

See if that answers your question.
