im on windows xp pro. got all the red x's to go away, minus one in the surrogates...

when i try to load AC i get this..

this applications has failed to start because d3dx9_30.dll was not found.

Look at the top sticky for the link to download and install directX ver 9.0c. You must have that installed. It does not matter if you have a later version of directx installed.

Also, change this back to defaults.

Go into the decal options and uncheck the option.

Not having dx9 installed is what is causing your problems, but the alternate injection method should not be checked which is why I mentioned it.

ok, when trying to install DX i get this message...

a cabinet file for installation cannot be trusted. Please verify the Cryptographic Services are enabled and the cabinet file certificate is valid.

so go into your Services and make sure that the Cryptographic Service is enabled. Decal won't function properly without it anyway.

And make sure that your computer clock is set to the correct time.

ok everything appears to be running fine now, but when I launch AC it sits at the update screen forever.
