I had an account that I used form 2001-2004 which I am trying to resurrect.
Turbine is asking me for the "Zone ID" but I have no idea what that is anymore. They told me to log on to games.msn.com, which I was able to do using my old e-mail and password, but there is no obvious "zone ID" waiting there for me like Turbine said there would be.
Can anyone help me out?
Do they want the zone ID just to verify that I am the account owner? ...or do they need it to actually do something so as to be able to migrate the account?

They need 3 points of authentication to get your account back. They were very helpful with one of mine and asked me to "fill in the missing letters" and gave me 6 of 8 of them lol. was too easy. Of course I had matched at least two others "points" .
Zone ID Hint: Are you able to provide the letters hidden by X?

I didn't know my zone ID. I sent them all I could remember. I dug up my old phone number, gave them that, old address, my full name, email account I was using then, mains name and server, the time period I played, and what I thought would be IN the zone name (was right, though not exact).
I think that was all I sent them, and they found and migrated it.

This is frustrating. I cannot remember this retarded "zone ID" bullshit, and Turbine will not migrate my old account without it. They will not consider using any other information except that.
I think I must have used the zone ID for about a month because it came into play about the time I quit AC. I do not see how they expect me to remember that 6 years later. Why can they not just use the account name and password that I used to have? I remember those - that was how you got in to play the game.

you talk to them thiers a lot of ways they can help you.
I think old credit card info. I.e the credit card that was used for billing of ac. You might be able to name the chars on the account I think as well.
If you get a hold of turbine billing staff they can be helpful with this.

I emailed them, and old info won't do...only the most current one on file.

Did you give them the email address you used? That helped me get mine migrated.
