Old currencies - worthless now?

So I recently returned to check out the game, and wanted to confirm a suspsicion. Are Small Shards, Singularity Keys, etc, all pretty much worthless these days?
I wonder if anyone at Turbine as thought about creating some kind of trade-in vendor who would give MMDs or something else of value for these older player currencies. Certainly would help returning players not feel quite so out of date

they still have the same uses they did in the game before but as trade value goes mmd notes are the trade standard.

A trade in vendor would be great. I have a mule filled with key rings full of sing keys. Been debating on going out and using them all up on a trove just to see what I'd get and how many mmd's I'd make, but it would be soo much easier to trade them in through a vendor.
