I need help. I have a base sword of 420 and am looking at hunting olthoi. So im thinking my only option is a pierce rendered sword. Ok off topic for a sec...it seems there are swords out there that give in their stats either "damage xx-xx Piercing/Slashing" or "damage xx-xx Slashing/Piercing" are these the same swords? Refering to the powerbar selection of slashing on the right side and piercing only 20% on the left??


With that, what should I look for in a sword to rend to hunt olthoi, and what rend is best for what im looking to hunt..

Ok, yes, you need a pierce to hunt olthoi...


But, why would you want that when you can get an Olthoi Slayer sword and beat their ass?


I have the Olthoi Slayer and hit them for 170-200 on quick jabs.


When I crit, it's for over 400.


Do yourself a favor and get the Olthoi Slayer -- it's worth your time.
