The hotel most likely has the ports you need closed.

So yes, SOL.

Find the nearest bar/coffee shop with free wifi, try again, but blindly try logging on with the URL bar of your web browser. 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. If you get a logon prompt, try the defaults like l:admin password or something stupid. If you get in, do an 'ipconfig' in DOS to get your ip, then forward TCP port 9000-9013 to it and play.

Other than that, youre screwed.

You do understand that is illegal right?

Edit: Not to mention hardly worth his time. Why would he go walking around to random locations in hopes of finding an open network. The "vast" majority are going to have a secure network.

Edit: Horrible, horrible, idea.

If its a common router, left with a default password, chances are nobody will ever know that someone tweaked the port forwarding section.

I am unaware of any federal law that forbids accessing unsecured network devices. Now some cities will have laws like this, some even go so far to make it a penalty for not securing your device, but I am not sure on the federal level.
