Only happens when Im running. Laptop is only 2 years old. Yes, its Vista...
I have all the flashy effects of Vista off. All my graphics are set to low in game.
V Sync is off on ATI Radeon X1200.

any suggestions?

Make sure shadows are off. Try turning off the catalyst A.I. if it's on. How fast is that video card though? Go to gpureview and buy a new one. Compare that one to newer one's.

how do I turn shadows off? one I thing i noticed. It only does it when vtank is running

How much memory does it have? AC doesn't use the graphics card that much so that likely isn't the problem but it does use a lot of memory.

2 gigs of ram. It runs like this when vtank is running a route. when it stops to attack the choppiness goes away. And Ive done the same thing on a PC with 1 gb of ram and never had this problem....

Try closing the plug in windows. I find that most plug ins like alinco and squire run super choppy when the windows are open. But if close them it goes away.
