I have 4 or 5 more to go but am stuck on one. I have to join the assassins to gain entrance to a place to get one and can't find any of the people to meet someone for an invite.

Kill an innocent and you should get an invite.

Alternatively, go do the quest for the child that is trying to summon the dark brotherhood (forget the town this is in, but it is the capital for the guys who want to break away) and after you do this, they will invite you to the Dark Brotherhood.

easiest way is to go to windhelm and talk to the kid aventus aretino. his quest, innocence lost, starts the quest chain to join the guild. talk to a city guard. he will mention something about a ritual going on.

Well, I had already done that quest but just had to go to sleep to be kidnapped. Thanks!
