So with their theory when oil is $500 a barrel we will have the best economy ever....Ya oil companies will share the wealth - hah

Low oil prices, consumers will guzzle it. Oil companies have to be like drug dealers, give it away almost for free then they got ya.

Shipping has to ship or go bankrupt. They just pass the extra fuel costs on to the consumer.
Oil companies have a monopoly of sorts in that if we don't like oil prices, we are literally screwed because there is no infrastructure for an alternative. They can jack up the prices and then ease off when people start to get fed up and begin to pursue energy-efficient vehicles or alternative fuel vehicles. The oil prices come down and people go ADD and say "awesome, oil is down, let's fuel up!"
Rinse and repeat.
