Me thinks the NPR is looking for 4 bodies now, they had to have run out of fuel by now. That brings the total mountaineering deaths this MONTH to 6. This could be a bad year on Rainier.


Storm prevents Tuesday search on Rainier


Park officials say a storm has prevented a search on Tuesday for four climbers and campers missing on Mount Rainier.

National park spokeswoman Patti Wold says an intensive search over the past week has turned up no signs of the two parties.

She says the park will begin scaling down it operation into a more limited search. Searchers hope the parties were able to walk out so plan to search remote areas of the park when weather permits.

Mark Vucich, of San Diego, and Michelle Trojanowski, of Atlanta, were due to return from a snow-camping trip on Jan. 15. Climbers Sork "Erik" Yang, of Springfield, Ore., and Seol Hee Jin, of Korea, were due back from a summit attempt on Jan. 16.
