My car is pretty cool that way. It has a multi vis that performs well when the engine is hot or cold. At low RPMs is retards the primary, or mechanical, timing between the engine and camshaft and at high RPMs speeds it up. This allows the engine to stay in the powerband thru a wider range of RPMs.
